For Mac users, iSkysoft DVD Ripper Pack for Mac is a good choice. It can convert dvd and Video to any format files with high quality. My friend and I all use it. There is also a version for PC users.

Cool video. amusing to see the back of both laptops and never see much screen shots smilies/smiley.gif
anyway. I have found some good alternative, it's a new-ish app called ConvertHQ - I got the Premium version. It has everything in it. reads a lot of formats and converts to iPod. It actually converts to a ton of other formats (divx Xvid, MOV, RM, RMVB, WMV, etc etc it even does PSP movies and Play-Yan (the game boy addon thingy)..
